What Are Porcelain Dental Veneers?
 A dental veneer is crafted from thin, tooth-colored porcelain shaped to look like a natural tooth. The veneer adheres to the front of the tooth to cover imperfections and create an aligned, balanced smile. We are pleased to provide CEREC® technology at our Charlotte, North Carolina practice, which allows us to custom-design porcelain dental veneers, crowns, and dental bridges while you relax in the dentist’s chair. Alternatively, you can have laboratory-crafted veneers placed in as few as two office visits.
Before placing veneers, the dentist administers a local anesthetic. Next, he gently shaves away a small portion of the tooth to make room for the veneer. He then takes precise measurements of the teeth and mouth in order to craft the veneer for the best fit. If you are receiving a CEREC® restoration, the entire placement is completed in a single visit. If you are receiving a laboratory-crafted restoration, you will return for a second visit when your veneers are ready, usually in about one week. In the final step, the dentist bonds the veneer to the tooth and shapes it to assure a perfect fit. Once in place, veneers look and feel completely natural and can last a lifetime.
